Pear and Chocolate Cake – research trip

Off to foodie heaven: Bergamo in Northern Italy for a few days. This lovely medieval hilltop town is home to wonderful grocers, bakeries and delis – cannot wait. Apparently Carluccio stocks up on Italian basics there.

Bergamo’s specialities include polenta, mountain cheeses and pasta – of course. And amazing fresh pasta is everywhere: casually strewn across the counters of many shops – I’m really looking forward to the squash, ricotta and sage ravioli.

And of course I will be carrying out further in-depth research into the delicious Pear and Chocolate cake which I discovered there last time.
